Description

Many Maine communities have identified climate-related vulnerabilities to their homes, businesses and natural areas, due to the impacts of sea level rise and increases in severe storms. Finding funding for adaptation solutions is often a major barrier to addressing these concerns and moving forward.

Join the Island Institute, Maine Coastal Program, the New England Environmental Finance Center, Casco Bay Estuary Partnership, and Resilience Works, LLC on Friday, September 27th, for a daylong conference that will highlight innovative strategies for how to pay for infrastructure projects to increase a community’s resilience.

Come to learn:
  • Funding and financing options in Maine
  • The role of innovative public-private partnerships, impact investments, and insurance in financing to build community resilience
  • The economic consequence of taking no action toward adaptation
  • How your community can incorporate project financing into its adaptation planning
  • Creative financing and adaptation examples from across the U.S.

Sponsored by: Maine Department of Marine Resources Maine Coastal Program and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry's Municipal Planning Assistance Program
